Where’s my funny?
🤨 Where do I find my funny?
Here's a great tip from my LI connection and fantastic keynoter Darren LaCroix, CSP, AS, WCPS:
"So many people ask me for help in creating a funnier speech. They want to know where to 'find funny.' I suggest starting by looking in the mirror🪞! Start by looking at your fails and your firsts. The first time you did something wrong. Audiences love the humility and openness."
Well said. Think on these 10 Fails or Firsts. Some are bound to make you smile. Those are the ones you can humorize and verbalize to connect with your audience:
1. First job interview
2. First time driving
3. Failing at cooking
4. First public speaking attempt
5. Tech fail during a presentation
6. First crush / date
7. Trying to be cool in school
8. First gym experience (I've got a whole bit on this one 😎)
9. Failing at DIY or IKEA assembly
10. First experience working from home
Would love to hear any of your Firsts or Fails below. #publicspeaking #humorwriting #imnotfunny
